Eric Roman Brady is a fictional character on the television drama Days of our Lives. As an adult, the role of Eric was played by Jensen Ackles from early 1997 to July 31, 2000. As a child the role was played by Rory Beauregard (1984), Jesse Davis (1985-1986), Edward Palma (1986), and Bradley Hallock (1986-1992).
Eric's parents are Dr. Marlena Evans and Roman Brady. Eric was born on the program in October 1984 but has since been aged to having been born in 1977. He was named after Roman's uncle Eric. Eric has a twin sister, Sami Brady, who is a popular character on the show.
For a time the twins believed that John Black was actually Roman Brady and therefore their father. Black raised them during their mother's five-year disappearance. Marlena eventually returned, as did the real Roman.
In early 1992, the Brady twins were sent to live in Colorado with Marlena's parents after their mother disappeared. Later that year, Sami returned to town rapidly aged in December 1992. Eric returned to Salem in April 1997 and then began relationships with Nicole Walker and Greta Von Amberg, while supporting his sisters Sami, Carrie, and Belle. Eric would then get fed up with the drama in Salem and leave town on July 31, 2000. Eric returned in 2001 but left again in 2002. Between 1992 and 1994, it had been implied by Sami that Eric avoided visiting his family because of their various dysfunctions.
Eric has had only two serious love interests on the show: Nicole Walker, who he became engaged to, but who left him to marry the wealthy Lucas Horton, and Greta Von Amberg, whom he never slept with and whom he left to return to Nicole.
Eric almost always disagreed with Sami and her schemes and more often that not sided with others against her, although he often defended her to those outside the Brady family.
In June 2008, it was mentioned on the show by Sami that Eric had been in a car accident while living in Colorado, although he never appeared onscreen. Despite the fact that he was not seriously hurt, his mother, Marlena, left Salem to check on him.
